Advanced Transportation Controller Cabinet Component Overview

The Advanced Transportation Controller Cabinet (ATCC) is an open architecture traffic control cabinet that combines existing standards and the latest technological advancements to increase cabinet safety, functionality, ease of maintenance, and decreased size. The ATCC offers significant improvements to conventional cabinets in modularity and compact size, motorist safety, technician safety and diagnostics. It is intended to update or replace all cabinet types: NEMA TS-1, NEMA TS-2, Caltrans 33x, and ITS Cabinet v1. In this webinar, Chief Technology Officer Scott Evans will introduce and review the basic description and operation of the cabinet device level products including the Cabinet Monitor Unit (CMU), High Density Switch Pack (HDSP), Auxiliary Display Unit (ADU), Serial Interface Unit (SIU), and Cabinet Power Supplies (CPS).

Reno A&E Bicycle Detection & Differentiation Using Prefabricated Loops

The Reno A&E Bicycle Detection & Differentiation System combines a C-series inductive loop detector, using enhanced / patented algorithms and prefabricated inductive loops for new and upgraded intersections. Many states now require bicycle detection in signalized intersections and RAE loop detectors (model C-1101-B and model C-1201-B) identify all vehicles, including the ability to differentiate bicycles from all other vehicles, which includes scooters and motorcycles.

Co-presented by Reno A&E’s Matt Zinn, Sales Manager, and Tom Sutula, Technical and Applications Sales Specialist, this webinar will illustrate how the system performs and how traffic engineering professionals can benefit by detecting and providing safe passage time for bicycles, without compromising operational efficiency of the intersection.

Technical Advances in 33X Signal Monitors (2010ECL/2018ECL) Using Flashing Yellow Arrow

Programming CMUs for Flashing Yellow Arrow operation has been difficult without standards in place to ensure interoperability with CUs and interchangeability between CMUs. The new NEMA TS-2 Standard Amendment 4 has defined the operational modes that an MMU shall provide to effectively monitor the FYA operation in full compliance with the Final Rule edition of MUTCD 2009. Presented by Eberle Design Inc. CTO Scott Evans, this webinar will show traffic signal engineers, technicians and supervisors the setup and operation of a 2010/2018 type monitor in a 332 cabinet with FYA.

Technical Advances in NEMA Signal Monitors Using Flashing Yellow Arrow
May 24, 2016
Many technical advances have been made to the cabinet signal monitor (conflict monitor) over the years that have improved their reliability and effectiveness in detecting and diagnosing cabinet and field wiring malfunctions. Advances in the built-in tools have made initial set-up programming both quick and accurate, reducing the possibility of programming errors that could allow unsafe operation of the intersection. Built-in tools now also provide expert assistance in diagnosing the source of cabinet malfunctions. Programming MMUs for Flashing Yellow Arrow operation has been difficult without standards in place to ensure interoperability with CUs and interchangeability between MMUs. The new NEMA TS-2 Standard Amendment 4 has defined the operational modes that an MMU shall provide to effectively monitor the FYA operation in full compliance with the Final Rule edition of MUTCD 2009.

The Reno A&E Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) & Ingress System provides for rapid access for authorized vehicles to enter gated / secure areas automatically.  Our unique AVI transponder emits a low frequency signal that is inductively coupled with any existing roadway loop connected to any one of our several AVI loop detectors. Co-presented by Reno A&E staff- Matt Zinn, Applications Sales and Technical Services Manager, and Tom Sutula, Technical & Applications Sales Specialist, this webinar will relate how gated communities are using the system to allow only authorized vehicles to gain prompt access, without having to use keys or key pads. This technology is also being used to provide transit signal priority for buses at intersections without additional roadside infrastructure.
