NEMA TS-2 Bus Interface Unit (BIU)

Model 700: The model BIU-700 Bus Interface Unit (BIU) performs the interface between Port 1 of the Controller Unit and the Loop Detector Racks, Terminals and Facilities, and other devices in a NEMA TS-2 Cabinet Assembly. Its functions include controlling load switch outputs, detector resets, communicating with Inductive Loop Detectors and other devices, and the conditioning and conversion of Terminals and Facilities and Loop Detector call inputs for the Controller Unit.

Model 720: The model BIU-720 Bus Interface Unit (BIU) adds an additional port for communicating with rack devices meeting the NEMA TS2-2003 BIU2 requirements.

Model 730: The model BIU-730 Bus Interface Unit (BIU) adds an additional port for communicating with rack devices meeting the NEMA TS2-2003 BIU2 requirements but electrically compliant with EIA-232 electrical standards.

Model 740: The model BIU-740 Bus Interface Unit (BIU) provides an EIA-232 port on the front panel for custom applications.


NEMA TS-2 Cabinet Power Supplies

PS-200: The model PS-200 power supply meets or exceeds all requirements for NEMA TS2-2003. It provides +24 VDC at 2 Amps, +12 VDC at 2 Amps, 12 VAC at 0.25 Amps, and a Line Frequency reference output. LED indicators and fuses are provided for all three output voltages.

PS-250: The model PS-250 power supply meets or exceeds all requirements for NEMA TS2-2003. It provides +24 VDC at 2 Amps, +12 VDC at 5 Amps, 12 VAC at 0.25 Amps, and a Line Frequency reference output. LED indicators and fuses are provided for all three output voltages.


NEMA TS-2 DC Isolator

Model SM662 :The model SM662 is a solid-state isolator device used to monitor a mechanical switch or button and report Call status to a Nema TS-2 Controller Unit. It provides the features of a DC Isolator for use in a Nema TS2 Input Assembly, including BIU status. Switch inputs are optically isolated from the cabinet DC Supply and are protected from transient over-voltages.

ITS Cabinet Serial Interface Unit (SIU)

SIU-218: The model SIU-218 Serial Interface Unit (SIU) performs the interface between Serial Bus #1 of the Advanced Controller Unit (ATC) and the Input Assembly, Output Assembly, and other devices in an ITS Cabinet. Its functions include controlling load switch outputs, detector resets, communicating with inductive loop detectors and other devices, and the conditioning and conversion of loop detector call inputs for the ATC. The SIU-218 Serial Interface Unit meets all requirements of the ASHTO/ITE/NEMA Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Standard Specification for Roadside Cabinets Version 01.02.15, as well as the Caltrans TEES, August 2002 requirements.

Auxiliary Display Unit : The EDI CMU Auxiliary Display Unit (ADU) is a rack mounted display module that provides an LED four color by thirty-two channel Full Intersection Display along with a SmartMonitor™ technology interface to the CMU-212 Cabinet Monitor Unit (CMU). The unit installs in a 1U height 19” rack space and provides a menu driven user interface to the enhanced features of the CMU-212 Series monitor including the built-in Diagnostic Wizard. Data is passed between the CMU-212 and the Auxiliary Display Unit via the cabinet Serial Bus #3. No modifications to the cabinet wiring are necessary.

Model 242 : The model 242 DC Isolator meets all requirements of Caltrans TSCES 1989 including TEES Chapter 1, and is listed on the Caltrans QPL list. The Model 242-LAX meets the requirements of LADOT.

Model 242E : The Model 242E adds additional Fault Output indicators to alert a technician to problems with the Model 242E outputs, cabinet wiring or associated Controller Unit inputs. Three separate Input Pulse filter settings provide a mechanism to screen out transient input pulses that may be the result of noise conditions or signal bounce.
